Amassing and processing huge quantities of information, then writing it up clearly are skills Erica Gies has brought to bear on projects for a range of clients.

Projects

The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread

The Johnson Foundation tackles a variety of issues, including the environment.

The Trust for Public Land

Erica Gies has researched and written white papers and articles for The Trust for Public Land, a national, nonprofit, land conservation organization. After months of tracking down materials and reading and processing hundreds of articles and reports, she synthesized the information into concise, current, useful prose. Written for parks and open space advocates and professionals, the white papers are intended to make the case for parks as a wise community investment.

Blue Planet Run

This 2007 photography book by Rick Smolan and Jennifer Erwitt, the team that created a whole series of “Day in the Life” photo books, was their first project focused on environmental issues. They hired Erica Gies to help generate story ideas about water issues around the world and to research background information to assist the photographers.
